What Is The Meaning Of Wireless

Whether a university buzzing with Gen Z students carrying multiple devices, who have never known a life offline or a large enterprise headquarters spanning multiple buildings with a Millennial workforce that expects the latest and greatest standards of connectivity, the demands now being placed on campus local area networks (LANs) are massive.
And just as datacentres did in the past, campus LANs are coming to be defined more and more by virtualisation and software-based controls. Alongside this trend, LAN hardware continues to improve in its capabilities, as network managers try to keep up with the intense demand
In this e-guide we will explore some of the key trends driving the market for campus LANs and ask how to implement one, find out how one user went about building a network from the ground up on a brand-new site, and look in-depth at some of the active suppliers in the market.
First, we look at how to go about designing and implementing a modern campus LAN, taking into account advances in software-defined and automation.
Then, we will take you behind the scenes at the UK’s University of Northampton to discover how the IT team was able to take advantage of a move to a brand new campus to deploy the latest and greatest networking technology in support of a new model of learning for a new generation of students.

Difference Between Wifi And Wireless Lan

Wireless LAN:
Wireless LAN is made by connecting different devices through wireless communication to make a local area network. WLAN follows a standard named IEEE 802.11. WLAN connects laptops, smartphones, personal digital assistants, desktop computers, workstations and printers. This network is easy to install and use at the home or any other place.
WLAN include an access point (AP) which is used to connect to the internet. AP sends and receives radio frequency signal to the connected devices. In 1990 WLAN installation was expensive and was only deployed where the wired connection was not possible. In the late 1990s, cost decreases to implement WLAN because of using IEEE 802.11 standard. It works with a bandwidth of 2.4 GHZ (802.11b) or 5 GHZ (802.11 a). The devices which WLAN connects are also called clients.

Wi-Fi:

Wi-Fi networks have a number of advantages, among which we can highlight:
Being wireless networks, the comfort they offer is far superior to wired networks because anyone who has access to the network can connect from different points within a wide enough space.

Once configured, Wi-Fi networks allow access to multiple devices without any problem or expense in infrastructure, or large number of cables.
The Wi-Fi Alliance ensures that the compatibility between devices with the Wi-Fi brand is total, so that anywhere in the world we can use Wi-Fi technology with absolute compatibility.

Wireless Network Applications

Wireless Equipment
Some of the access point equipment that normally comes with omni 2 Dbi antenna, often removable, in which links can be made above 500 meters and can also be interconnected. There should be no obstacles for the signal to be excellent, as this interferes with the signal and there may be problems in the connection.
Technological aspects
In general, wireless technology uses  low-power radio frequency waves  and a  specific band , free or private, to transmit between devices.
These conditions of freedom of use without a  license have led to the number of equipment, especially computers, that use the waves to connect, through  wireless networks  has grown significantly .

Wi-Fi networks have a number of advantages, among which we can highlight:

Being wireless networks, the comfort they offer is far superior to wired networks because anyone who has access to the network can connect from different points within a wide enough space.
Once configured, Wi-Fi networks allow access to multiple computers without any problem or expense in infrastructure, or large number of cables.
The Wi-Fi Alliance ensures that the compatibility between devices with the Wi-Fi brand   is total, so that anywhere in the world we can use Wi-Fi technology with absolute compatibility.
There are no physical cables: therefore there are no cables that become entangled, or that hinder the passability or that aesthetically disturb.

Learn To Strengthen Your Wireless Network

Regardless of whether it is a private or corporate network, ensuring its security must always be a priority. By their nature, traditional networks with conduits and cables have some degree of protection against external attacks. Without physical access to the lines that logically extend inside a building, strangers cannot hear the information or access the data.
Who wants to take advantage of the practical possibilities of a wireless network faces a much greater security problem. There is no talk here of a cable transmission medium, but of free space, whose range is not measured by the length of the cable but by the strength of the wireless network . For an unscrupulous person to intercept these signals and access data from a wireless local area network (WLAN), only one receiving device is needed Thus, and to make use of the benefits of wireless communication without worries, it is important to ensure WLAN security.

What is the Internet of Things

Internet of Things is a translation of the English expression Internet of Things (IoT),  which describes a scenario in which various things are connected and communicated. This technological innovation aims to connect the items we use daily to the Internet, with the aim of increasingly bringing the physical world closer to the digital world.

The term was born in 1999, when Kevin Ashton, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), wrote the article "The Internet of Things Things." For him, people's lack of time creates the need to connect on the Internet in new ways. These allow the creation of devices that execute tasks that we do not need to do. These devices talk through different protocols within the same network, accompany our activities, wireless mode store information and, from there, help us on a day-to-day basis.
When we talk about "things," we mean anything. really! We are already accustomed to using the internet with smartphones, computers, Smart TVs and video games, but in this context the idea is not to have one more means to connect to the internet itself, but to make the devices more efficient. In addition to contributing to optimize natural resources , for health and other numerous opportunities.

How does IoT work

The Internet of Things is simply about objects connected to each other through the network. They exchange information to facilitate or create various actions. For something like this to happen there are a set of three factors that need to be combined for an application to work within the concept of Internet of Things. These are: devices, the network and a control system.
  • The Devices:  They are all those we already know, such as: refrigerators, cars, lamps, clocks, coffee makers, television and others. In these devices it is important that they be equipped with the correct items to provide communication with the other elements. These limits can be chips, internet connection, sensors, antennas among others.
  • The Network: It is the means of communication and we are already used to it. Well, they are technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile data (3G and 4G).
  • The control system: it is necessary for all the data captured from the devices through the network to be processed, so they are sent to a system that controls each aspect and makes new connections.
To simplify, imagine your home. Now think about all the things you have in your kitchen, like the refrigerator. In that scenario, the refrigerator could notify you when a food runs out, you can do research and find markets with the best prices to buy a certain product. I could also suggest different food recipes with the things that are available inside the refrigerator.
And now, thinking beyond, about connectivity; imagine your alarm ringing in the morning, and send a message for the coffee maker to start brewing coffee and notify the curtains to open slowly. Does it seem too futuristic?
Can you understand the concept we talked about earlier in action? Objects connected to each other (the alarm clock and the coffee maker), which exchange information (time to wake up and make coffee) to create an action (ready coffee without worries).

Engineering Consultant

The Engineering Consultant has added value versus other kinds of counseling. Being prepared by one or more members who do not belong to the organization, it is a process especially conducive to objectivity and impartiality.
However, you should keep in mind that this service does not always pursue the same purposes nor is it determined by the same corporate objectives. In fact, the main purposes of financial consulting include:
  • Set corporate goals in the medium and long term. If there are no goals in this regard, one can never speak of a financial evolution. As the leader of your company, you should know where it is going and what capital or investment prospects it has in the immediate or distant future.
  • Evaluate the current financial status of an organization. Other times, the purpose of this service is simply to know the financial status of a company. The two most common reasons for this are: either because the company has entered a crisis situation and its balance sheets show data in red, or because it has growth and expansion plans. Be that as it may, the information obtained must be useful and timely.
  • Prepare a financial plan. Although it seems difficult to believe, a high percentage of companies do not yet have a coherent and realistic financial plan that allows them to execute their actions. The elaboration of this plan also enters into the basic functions of a financial consultant.
  • Execute the actions of the financial plans. Financial consulting not only deals with developing plans; When the service is integral, it also carries out the execution of the planned actions. This requires, however, a high degree of knowledge on the part of the consultant towards the company for which he is working, even if only temporarily.
